Another Daring Escape

Peter's post ended with him doubting whether Gregory/Vanderdecken12 was really that bad, and then somebody burst through the door. That person was, to our great surprise, Jordan.
"Where'd you come from?" Peter asked him, looking him over to see if he was bruised at least from his terrible fall.
"I was on a prisoner raid when I heard you were here. I saw movement so I climbed up to warn you."
"Warn us?" I asked anxiously.
"Yes. Bob Simmons has convinced Gregory that you are traitors and must die. Simmons is on his way up here with an army of five hundred following."
Peter and I looked at each other in desperation. Then the last fifteen minutes wore off. We could escape. Of course, fat lot of good that would do us if we had five hundred trained soldiers chasing us.
"Don't have much of a choice, though." Peter muttered. He asked for the time machine, which I handed him, and set it. Then he pointed it over the ledge and turned it on.
"It'll at least be a bit harder convincing his men to jump off the turret." I mused.
"Indeed," and he prepared to jump off, a terribly frightening task.
"You coming with us?" Peter asked.
I suppose this new Jordan had heard something about us, because he did. And Peter jumped, then Jordan, then, with a last look back at the door, so did I. And we were off on an adventure...
