"You're catching on." Aleck appeared out of closet, "but I already have."
"Who's this?"
"Somebody who likes lurking in closets and doing freaky yoga poses." I said.
Aleck didn't notice, "I have it narrowed down to three people. All the rest weren't around when the phone call was placed.
"Woah woah woah, you went through all 50 people and tracked their location?" Jeremy asked.
"Oh, and I forgot," I added, "he's a genius spy. What'd you find?" I asked Aleck.
"Well, it's either Collin, a19 year old college student, who needs cash. Or Gregory, a 32 year old father of the Spooners, who was taken along on late notice. Or Tad, a 55-year-old who almost couldn't make it, because his wife died recently, and might not have anything better to live for.
Gregory walked in, "did I hear my name?" I looked up Aleck, but he was already hidden.
"No, I, I was telling Jeremy about , um a friend of mine name Gregory."
"Oh,"
"Yeah," Jeremy nodded, "he sounds a lot like you. Really physically fit, fast-thinking, and always alert."
Gregory grinned, and then left.
"Nice save." I sighed.
"Always flatter your audience."
Aleck came back out of the closet.
"Wait!" Jeremy said, "I thought you were in the other closet.
"I was."
I rolled my eyes, "any theories?" I asked.
"No," Aleck nodded.
Jeremey squinted at him, "huh?"
"Well, Collin is our most likely suspect, and then Tad. But I don't have any theories as to the motive, and you should definitely just continue doing what you've been doing." He slipped me a piece of paper that said otherwise...
The reverse of what I said is true. Try to find a motive. These are desperate times.
