Skiing

I'm not sure how much of what I said got through to Ben, but at this point, I really don't care. At this point, we just have to worry about escaping Bob. And at least we're doing it in style; on skis. I prefer snowboarding but they were all out of stock (I suppose Gregory banned snowboards first). We had a fair chance at getting a decent head start because I'd used some of the detonation material to blow up the rest of the skis before we'd left. Skiing is a lot faster than walking on snow so we obtained an incredible lead. It all changed, however, when we discovered a small village of refugees. It turned out to be a covert operation by the rebellion, one kept secret from everyone else, even other rebels. Furthermore, we discovered the significance of it when I approached the village's leader. They had stolen a bit of the infamous cookie! The cookie was growing faster and faster and it was being re-engineered to remove the insanity side-affect.
"Peter, we need to keep going. "Ben reminded me, but then I realized we couldn't.
"Ben, we're going to lead an entire battalion right through this village!"
"Sure, but then we're going to go back. It won't even matter."
"Yes it will! If we fail, these people are the world's only hope. They can stop Gregory!"
"But we're going to erase their progress anyway."
"No we're not. This is 2026. We can't go past here. But once Bob discovers this place, even if we defeat them he'll get message out to the others to tell them to stop these people before they even start!"
Ben turned this over in his mind before he realized I was right, "We've got to stop him before he gets here."
I nodded.
Ben was thinking deeply. Cogs were turning, then he came up with his best idea in a while, which you'll discover in his next post, "I've got a plan."
I smiled. Here we go.
