And They Lived Happily Ever After

Not to be cheezy, but this post's title is so accurate I understand why countless playwrights have used it before. This is Peter reporting, probably for the last time. Aleck Smart and Ludwig Einstein, after spending year after endless year going through history, finally got to an age with the right materials to build a time machine. They rushed to the Presidential speech and saw us just before we pulled Gregory back. They followed us and, just as we destroyed the time machine and were about to be slaughtered by an enraged Gregory, Aleck, still invincible, rushed to our rescue, fighting Gregory off long enough for the rest of us to escape with Einstein.

A few days later, we were sitting at an In-N-Out again, as we had before this whole fiasco in the future had begun. Ben and I were savoring the taste of fresh, (mostly) unregulated cheeseburgers when who but Aleck and Gregory walked in together, tired, weary, but definitely not crazy. Ben looked up at them, staring and unmoved.
"Ben, it's me, Vanderdecken12." That realization, that acknowledgement of who he really was, drew a wave of relief over Ben, "It's been a long 3,00 years, but the cookie has worn off."
"I missed you Vanderdecken."
"I missed me too."
Ben stood up and embraced him. It was over.
Then Oleck walked in, a younger Oleck; Oleck before he died. No doubt oblivious to all the evils that he would witness later on. We intend to keep it that way. And so, life goes on; a life of peace, of contentedness, of happiness. Ben, Vanderdecken12, Ludwig Einstein, Oleck Smart, Aleck Smart, and myself are well set to live the rest of our lives in peace.

Ahh, a great ending to a great adventure, I would let you know that you have inspired me to begin a story myself. I have done so, and am publishing it in the Legoton Press (A blog of mine.)
Merry Christmas - good.enough
